About Me!
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What I draw is almost always inspired by the natural world, or at least the natural world as I see it. I have been told I give my illustrated animals great expressions, but it is not me giving the animals these expressions. I am simply drawing and painting what I see—personalities. I cannot help but see the haughtiness of a squirrel, the smugness of a giraffe, or the contentment of a warthog. It is my wish to bring joy to you through my illustrations.
I am one of the artists for the carnivore center, Polar World, in Sweden. My humorous paintings are depicted on informational signs all throughout the park. I have illustrated coloring books for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game which were adopted by the Yukon Department of Fish and Game and Montana Department of Fish and Game. I am trained as a biologist and a high school science teacher. I live in central Idaho with my two small children, who demand drawings of sassy cats and overbearing dogs at least once a day.
